What does our county government do?
County government touches nearly every part of daily life—supporting public safety, health and human services, infrastructure, and economic growth across our region. Together with the County Executive, the Cuyahoga County Council sets policy, directs funding, and holds government accountable to ensure services are delivered efficiently, transparently, and in a way that actually works for residents.
Who represents you?
The Cuyahoga County Council is composed of 11 elected representatives from across the county. District 5 includes Berea, North Royalton, Olmsted Falls, Olmsted Township, and Strongsville.
Courtney's Plan for Cuyahoga County
Protect Property Taxpayers
Consolidate duplicative programs, cut unnecessary projects, and focus spending on essential services to control spending and prevent future property tax increases.Â
Promote Safer Communities
Support law enforcement while promoting accountability and safe policies to protect residents and taxpayer dollars.Â
Prioritize Core Services
Ensure residents continue to access essential programs in health, social services, child protection, and senior support, even as federal and state funding declines.Â
Invest in Public Goods to Promote Economic Growth
Invest in roads, bridges, public hospitals, and parks to create jobs, strengthen neighborhoods, and attract new businesses.Â
